Forth Training School
Stockholm (SE), April 25-27, 2016
The Training School was hosted by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in collaboration with Innventia. During the first day of the training school there were lectures on production of nanocellulose, modification, charcaterisation, and applications. The second day was a joint workshop with the WoodWisdom-net project WoTIM hosted by Innventia. During this day we got insight into the area of woodbased thermal insulation, one of all applications where nanocellulose could be utilized.
The third day started off with a presentation on surface modification and characterisation. Thereafter there were visits to the labs of SP and Innventia. At SP the nFOG technique for depositing nanocellulose on surfaces was demonstrated, as well as plasma treatment and surface analysis techniques. At Innventia the pilot plant for cellulose nanofibrill (CNF) production and the pilot papermaking facility FEX was shown.
All in all 30 participants from 15 countries joined the training school.
